Places to Go When You Live At Heritage Village at Oakhurst

            The Oakhurst community is in Monmouth County, which already tells you something good; it is near the beach. The county has numerous beaches, and some of the ones closest to our community are Deal and Long Branch. The best thing is that there are so many options to choose from that you can try them all to find the right fit for you! Asbury Park, Manasquan, and Belmar even made the list of New Jersey’s Top Ten Beaches of 2015, so that goes to show how enjoyable the shores are. You can relax on the beach and listen to the waves, or take your boat out for a ride and catch some fish. Learn how to sail and cross that off of your bucket list. The possibilities are endless.
            If you’re not a fan of the sand, do some sightseeing and visit the lighthouses of Monmouth County, such as the Sandy Hook Lighthouse or the Sea Girl Lighthouse. Take a walk and watch the sunrise at the National Park, or venture to one of Monmouth County’s three state parks. Golf is another relaxing alternative to your day, and the county offers a variety of public and semi-private courses for you to tee-off on.
            New Jersey is called the Garden State for a reason. There are multiple farmer’s markets that provide fresh and healthy food for you to bring straight from the market to the kitchen. For the history buffs out there, there are seemingly endless spots to visit to get a taste of the past.
